The Citizen's Dividend

A series on the income every person is owed as a co-owner of the commonwealth. The earth, its resources, and now the accumulated knowledge of the species are a shared inheritance, and the rent they throw off belongs to everyone in equal measure. Returning that rent as an unconditional dividend, paid to all and means-tested on no one, is not charity from the productive to the idle. It is restitution for an enclosure none of us agreed to.
